I am one of those who sought out this website in search of the deaf community and culture. Be assured I did it with pure respect, and instead of blurting out, "Hey, I'm doing a homework assignment," I actually went through and read about 3000 posts.
I consider myself a dyslectic signer when it comes to ASL, but I practice and try every day. I had an AWESOME ASL instructor, and I think I learned more about the culture than anything. Her website is :

I want to make friends with people on this site, I didn't join to get my information and split, I want to be the part of the hearing world who can educate those who have never expericenced some of the things I have.
I would never want to impose on anyone, I just wanted to say Thank you to all of you on this site who allowed me to stand quietly in the shadows and learn, and LISTEN to what you all had to say.
