I've a lot of contacts in my bike business. They ask me to text them every time I get new bikes in. Well, it costs one of them money every time they send or receive texts. Therefore, 1 long text is cheaper than 4 short texts. With this person, I would hate to text and ask "hey, I just got this bike in. Interested?" If they pass, then it would cost them money to get this text. This person has no computer at home. So I would wait for this person to get to library computer, E mail me, and then I would text.

I was thinking that I may call this person via relay so that I can keep person's bill down. This person was an auto salesperson for 20 years so I'm sure he may have gotten a relay call or 2.

:wave:When I use my TTY -I access 711 which is VCO. My machine-UltraTec 1140- does have the capability of TEXT if the other party has a machine which will accept.

I understand the system is operated by a Bell Canada subsidiary. There is no specific charge as the system is "charged" to everyone who uses a telephone. I understand the charge is$0.15 a month as part of the monthly charge.

I live in Ontario and have used my TTY since January 1996.
