I just happened to find this poem that I like - Siegfried Sassoon: The Death-Bed

an excerpt -
Light many lamps and gather round his bed.
Lend him your eyes, warm blood, and will to live.
Speak to him; rouse him; you may save him yet.

...

But death replied: 'I choose him.' So he went,
And there was silence in the summer night;
Silence and safety; and the veils of sleep.
Then, far away, the thudding of the guns.

Richard Cory

Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean favored, and imperially slim.

And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
'Good-morning,' and he glittered when he walked.

And he was rich - yes, richer than a king -
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine, we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.

So on we worked, and waited for the light,
And went without the meat, and cursed the bread;
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet through his head.
Edwin Arlington Robinson

Sometimes...we watch the days go by...
Wishing they could last.
And we can't help but wonder..
why time must fly so fast....

But we can keep in memory,
happy moments left behind...
And we can keep our special dreams,
of joys...we hope to find...

And if we do the very best we can...
thru every day we live....
Iif we consider what we have...
is what we have to give...

If we will try to see some good,
in all that comes our way...
Then we will feel contentment...
at the end of every day!

For this, we will have mastered...
that very special art...
Of growing rich in happiness...
while staying young at heart.
