WOW ... When I got e.Mail and read it.. So thought share with you all ader to read. !

Wasn't it last Christmas that Target refused to let the Salvation Army ring their bells in front of their stores?
Dick Forrey of the Vietnam Veterans Association wrote.

"Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud
sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our
spring recognition event.

We received the following reply
from the local TARGET management:
" Veterans do not meet our
area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action
groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education."

So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and
veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria,
then something is really wrong at this TARGET store. We were
not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just
a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

As a follow-up, I E-mailed the TARGET U.S. Corporate
Headquarters and their response was the same.
That's their
national policy.

Then I looked into the company further.
They will not allow
the Marines to collect for 'Toys for Tots' at any of their
stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would
not allow families of employees who were called up for
active duty to continue their insurance coverage while
they were on military service. Then as I dig further,

TARGET
is a French-owned corporation.

Now, I'm thinking again. If TARGET cannot support American
Veterans, then why should my family and I support their
stores by spending our hard earned America n dollars!

And,
have their profits sent to France .
Without the American
Vets, where would France be today?

"They, most likely would be speaking German and trading in Deutsch Marks"

Sincerely,
Dick Forrey

Please send this on to everyone you know
to let Target know
we don't need them either !

Target has rights to refuse to let Salvation Army to ring their bell for some reason.

AND Target is willing to fire any employees who would talk about GOD. I find this very very offensing! I refuse to shop at any Target. Thank you.

GOD BLESS YOU, GOD IS UNDER ONE NATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have agree with Target.

I'm agnostic and never believe in god but anyone who said "god" then would interfere with other employee that who believe in other religion.

I don't believe Target Corp will go this far in firing one for mentioning the name of God. I know of some Christians and those believing in God work at Target stores.

And, how come I have seen candle glasses with images of God, Jesus and Mary sold at Target?

My friends and my family heard it all over from the radio and they were very offended.

To answer your question, I do not know about that. The one I go to, never have any and I asked where can I go to get some? Guess what? They said they had to de-shelf them due to *religion issues*. *nods* See I never go to that store because they were very very stupid. And plus it is the very same one that Target would fire employees who talk about God and with shoppers too.

Target wouldn't advertise "Merry Christmas" anymore but did at once and seems not good for them and rather to say "Happy Holiday".

I have never seen this happen, nor can I imagine this happening unless it interferes with the worker's ability to do their job. What's your cite / proof?

Everything that was said in this thread so far has been false, with the exception of the Salvation Army thing, because the Salvation Army was granted an exception for so many years. When other organizations started pestering Target for money, it became apparent that having an exception for the Salvation Army was a bad thing and opening them up to liability.

Another hoax, it goes same for Walmart when I surf other forum and they fell for it. Last Christmas I remmy them stand ringing the bell at both stores.

Well, they are doing illegally.

Doesn't surprise me about Target stores though. Like that time they refused to give a woman the day after pill (I think what its called) when she was raped & said she needed to have a Dr. sign for it.

I dont really care about those stores as long as they have good prices.

;) I am strongly agree with you! I believe in God & Jesus!

Thank God for I am not working at Target! Because I have two jobs for
apartment, and shredding! Yay! Tough $#!% to Target if I saying
God with anything because I am not working at there.
So, maybe Target will expelling me for saying a word-- that is a violation of
free of speech against Target Stores! Or they don't know I am saying
"God" in ASL! Too [bleep] bad to Target!
They are dumb scum bag manager of the store that don't know in any other
language! :nana:

But, Target is OK for me because them had anything at
low prices! :) However, in my humble opinion that is
Wal-mart is much better for more lower prices than
Target stores.

Just more wackiness from the Christianz-wit-kno-lyfe zone.
