The Texas Symposium on Deafblindness was held Friday and Saturday at the Omni South Park Hotel in Austin.

The conference provides support and helps many parents learn how to better communicate with their children.

For children who are both deaf and blind, parents have a great deal to learn and understand.

"I rely greatly on the education that the outreach team has provided because my life with my child would be very different if I didn't have that," mother Vivecca Hartman said.

The conference is more than just communication techniques, it also brings awareness of the support networks available to parents.
