Mr. zookeeper is a correctional officer. One of the facilities he worked in not only had a deaf C.O., he was a ranking officer. The biggest problem would be hearing a radio call for back-up. Some of these facillities have dorms with 50 to 100 inmates. If one C.O. goes in and has trouble- back up better be there "yesterday." There is always a way around this type of obstacle. A lot of these type of employers have preferential hiring policies for people covered under ADA. You can choose to list yourself under preferential hiring or not. Try the internet under Jobs Police/Security. I don't want to say to much on a public forum, but you could easily find a job where he works right now. Good luck.
