Stupid State of Ohio Tricks
Most folks have heard the news that the State of Ohio's college intern lost the back up with over 65,000 State Employees information on it.
The negligence has gone deeper...
seems a laptop was stolen prior to this last back up disks theft from an unlocked vehicle and it contains a lot of medical and benefit information
Anyway, long story shorter
If you are an Employee, Dependent of an employee, a Workers Comp Recipient, a State of Ohio Benefit Recipient, a Tax-Payer (yes,even these records w/SS#'s have been compromised), someone who lives outside of Ohio but has received some compensation from the state or an employer in the state, you should go to the website and check to see if your named among those whos records have been lost.

They are trying to play this down and sweep it under the rug but have sent letters to all Ohio Employees to sign up for free ID Theft Protection.
