I have hip dysplasia, had 2 surgeries to fix this defect when I was a very small child. Now my left hip hurts most of the time, it is getting "old" (even though I am only 26 years old!). My orthopedist wants me to try the steroid injection. I will be getting my first injection in my left hip this Thursday. I am nervous about this, I hope the needle won't hurt too much!!! 
Have anyone had them before? How much did it hurt? How long did the injections have given you relief? How long before the pain relief kicks in? I have googled this but I wanted to hear about your personal experiences with the cortisone/steroid injections.
