hey everybody, I was wondering if anyone has any idea if there would be any tv stations that are going to show that little interpreter in a bubble on the bottom of the screen for bush's state of the union? i've been looking online for info, but i'm not even sure how to really search for it. let me know if you have any ideas. thanks!

These days it is more likely it will be closed captioned. The ASL interpreter in the bubble usually are for churches on t.v. The State of the Union address will be closed captioned for sure.

yea, i figured it would be. i'm actually an interp student, and really interested in interpreting politics. i just wanted to see how it would be done. but i figured it wouldn't happen. thanks tho!

Well, you never know, they might just do that, in addition to having closed captioning but I would not hold my breath for an ASL interpreted bubble. Just go with the flow of the closed captioning and see what President Bush has to say.
