I have a question that I can't seem to get answered CORRECTLY at Sprint Stores.

I have been with T mobile almost 5 years with Sk's and I am looking to move to Blackberry Curve 8330.

What I want to do is: Move or port my current number to Blackberry with Data Plan...have cell phone voice unblocked or usable, BUT do same as T mobile..data plan..pay 20 cents as you go with voice and voice mail. TOOOOO many people (friends..families...business acquaintances..etc) have my number to leave msg on my voice mail. This has worked out GREAT for me. I have data plan..I have cell phone feature if need arises like hearing family come over for visit..or emergency on road some where and I am with hearing person..etc etc.

Is this possible with Blackberry 8330? Data plan...pay as you go voice with voicemail at 20 cents? If not possible..then I guess I will go with Tmobile's 8320 reluctantly.

Sprint are like that.. I checked the Sprint website. They only have 1 plans for Blackberry:

Simply Everything Plans: unlimited everything on text, internet, etc
450 min voice 70/mo
900 min voice 90/mo
unlimited voice $100

I doubt you would be able to get "prepaid" for BB as BB send/receives data all the times.

If you have ALLTEL in your home area, you might want to check it out too.. They do sell BB 8330 as well.. They got unlimited data with 500 mins voice at $70/mo (they have more highers plans.).. They do have "deaf" plan but unfortunately, not for smart phones/bb.

So you are saying if I decide to make the jump to Sprints 8330, I will not be able to get the EXACT same plan I get with T mobile? I called and checked with T mobile and they said that if I upgrade to their 8320 with them, I would be subjected to 300 text messages capacity.

This is in regards to T Mobile: Now I am thinking...text messages..that would mean calling/sending a number right? What if I sent an email to a text number like for example 1234567890@alltell.net or something like that. Would that still be ruled a text msg? What about reversing? Would people who send to my email from text making me be counted against text? I REALLY need the "pay as you go" or "additional air time minutes" as T mobile said it was voice minutes. That is something I CANNOT do without.

This is in regards to Sprints 8330: I COULD start giving out my personal VRS 800 number and when I get a VRS impending call notification, I would know beforehand who is calling and what number, and watch the messages from the "answering machine service of VRS" but would 8330 support Windows Media playback? If 8330 can and will support Windows media player (.wav) then I probably will jump ship. As for making outbound calls, that wouldn't be a problem since I RARELY make outbound calls unless emergency or hearing family comes over and needs a phone.

Anyone sending via 1234567890@message.alltel.com will be sent via SMS and counted as SMS. You can send SMS or email outgoing. I know it is "unlimited" SMS/Email under "Smart Choice" plans (required for all PDAs). These plan comes with at least 500 minutes of "voice" per month included.

Prepaid is not availible for PDA (that the case for Alltel as far I know) due to PDA requires alot of data traffic.

Not to be an ASS or anything, but have you been able to test the VRS Signmail message on your 8330? I'm kinda wanting to jump the gun and go to Sprint...but I have this little "pull" telling me to wait until it is VERIFIED that we can open .wmv files (sorry..I said .wav...late night..its actually .wmv) from email attachments and be able to play them or if can not do it directly from email...go to a web based email program and do it from there.
