Researchers at the University of Michigan recently found that what actually causes hearing problems after exposure to loud sounds is reduced blood flow in the inner ear due to free-radical build up. They say that the combo of Vitamin A, C, and E and magnesium reduces permanent noise-induced hearing loss.

Best food for your ears? Spinach

Half a cup of these greens gives you 9,433 IU Viatmin A, 1.9 mg of Vitamin E, 8.8 mg vitamin C, and 78 mg of magnesium.

I love spinach... so I guess my ears are good!! What do you think?

I don't know if, it is true about spinach that will help the ears. I've never heard of that before.

I love spinach, too. I use it for salad only. I like raw spinach better than cook.

FYI, I can't live without spinach salad. I am crazy over spinach.

I'd like to see more studies on this. ONE study of 4 groups of guinea pigs over 5 days of noise exposure? That's a LIGHT study. Looks like they plan to start clinical trials soon.

It's not a cure, it's a potential treatment. Let's do those tests to find out if this really is a viable treatment. There's hope but don't go loading up on Popeye's Spinach just yet.

And prevention is the key when dealing with noise induced hearing loss. Much easier to prevent than to treat.

Honestly?...... *umm* i never heard about that.

Well this is NOISE induced hearing loss (late deafened losses) It doesn't really effect most of us here.
And I know a way to get an answer to that question.......Ask Popeye!
