LOL... you crack me up. CA's a liberal state but has very effective "Three Strikes" law that literally sent people to prison for life after a third conviction. .

my statement was for the country as a whole. not CA in general. reading stories in NY newpapers was what i was thinking of what while typed that.

it would be nice if all states had a "three strikes" policy. our justice system needs to be more strict when dealing with criminals.

The problem is that it's too expensive. It's still more cost effective to have them treated without prison and have them pay than to imprison them. .

screw cost effective. let the scumbags rot

Violent felons should stay in prison though

I do believe people make mistakes. And should be given a second chance.

If they continue. Then they DO need to be locked up.

the thing about career criminals they get away with a lot of their crimes. Their 3strikes doesnt mean they have only committed 3 crimes.
