INDIANAPOLIS; COLUMBUS, Ohio; and SALT LAKE CITY (March 15, 2005) – Sorenson Media(r) today announced the opening of new Sorenson Video Relay Service(r) (VRS) Interpreting Centers in both Indianapolis, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio. By adding video relay interpreting centers, Sorenson Media intends to stay ahead of increasing call demand.
"Placing a video relay service call using American Sign Language (ASL) has never been easier for deaf or hard-of-hearing people," said James Lee Sorenson, CEO at Sorenson Media. "Using a Sorenson VP-100(tm) videophone appliance, a television and broadband Internet connection; deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals can easily call hearing friends, family, and business associates. Because we are experiencing a rapid rise in the number of users, we need to increase the number of certified ASL interpreters to interpret calls."
