Sorenson Alert !!!!! They need help !!!!!

Have you guys heard of MOU? "Minutes Of Use" 60 minutes of use is one hour of use. One hour of time yields more than 60 minutes of use. So $420 per hour is correct and....and gee I dont know how funny these folks are who thought it wrong.

Anyways! Today bears interesting unfolding news is the Gallaudet protesters have launched this morning a boycott of Gallaudet Interpreting Services (GIS) and there's only one VRS company that relies heavily on GIS. Therefore that particular VRS company becomes the target of the boycott. I'll be happy to promote this boycott.

I don't get how one article that states one anonymous person suggested FOUR different ideas on how to affect Gallaudet's funding, and one of those ideas was a brief 1 line statement about "Simply stop using SorensonVRS (Not the box itself, but stop using the VRS!)" equals an active "PROTEST / BOYCOTT!" today!

No one is reporting boycotts. One person is suggesting one solution is to boycott. No one is actually boycotting. FSSA hasn't said, "We will all stop using Sorenson VRS!" anywhere.

When people are actually boycotting, give me a call, 'cause I support it, but no one is actually doing it. Making up news and spreading rumors is lying. Make the boycott actually happen.
 
Oh please I have known Ricky Taylor when we both were at Gallaudet in the 90's. Blah blah blah is all I gotta say.

And if people want to BITCH about the buildings not being named after a deaf person - then lets do this "Get ONE deaf person to come up and DONATE MILLIONS of dollars to Gallaudet and then we can name a friggin building after them" You know where I work - we have buildings *Like 15 of them* and EVERY ONE of them have names - and each one was NAMED after a MAJOR contributor!

And as for the pay - first of all like Dennis says - you have Salaries/Server/Bandwidth/Technology/Rental Space/Benefits/Production of improved VP. *Which I know some of you are DYING to get your hands ont he VP200. Now those wouldn't be possible without the extra moola. One thing that Sorenson has done that other companies sadly failed to do - is invest money into research and development for improved technology. I mean seriously would you guys want to be sitting with the same kind of technology 10 years down the road or if more research and development was done then one day we could ahve a 3 way or 10 way teleconference video conferencing - and none of that will be possible without R&D.

I don't use VRS that much but just thought I'd make a point here.
 
Cut the pay per min.Yeah thats the ticket......You can have someone who fingerspells your whole call , if you are lucky.Then you can write everything down so they can interpret what you are saying....Hmmm may end up back at text relay. Remember this, you get what you pay for. If they cut that rate much more you will be very very sorry when you see what you get for that rate.Then you will say it all sucks and why cant they get better interpreters.Be careful what you ask for........
