Sony Vegas movie maker 8?

I want to get Sony Vegas movie maker. But i heard that it costs alot of money. I have Windows movie maker but its rly sucky to use it right now. I use windows movie maker for my sims 2 series or music videos. But everytime i use WMM it freezes and shuts me off. so I want to get Sony vegas because alot of people uses that kind. So I can't use EBay because i dont have credit card and i'm prob not old enough to use it since i'm 14 1/2. Whats another movie maker i can get for free and use it easily??

Rather than buy Sony Vegas, isn't it possible to download a demo version?

I have never used movie makers. But, the only free video application that I know of is Avidemux (Avidemux - Main Page).

You may also need to download Virtualdub (Welcome to virtualdub.org! - virtualdub.org) for conversions, etc.
