Slow file copy/delete/move on vista

I mean no customized recovery CD like Compaq, HP, etc have.. I have "REAL" Windows Vista CD which let me install just like original MS Vista (Actual it is DVD for Vista). Then I download the latest Vista Drivers from Dell website using my laptop and load it on my desktop.. Boom.. Clean installation without custom craps on it.

I also have few versions of Dell Vista and XP ISO which lets you install windows into dell without needs of "activativing" the windows for first time.

Yeah.. no recovery CD? Did you call dell for order the recovery CD as the replacement..?

Wait a min.. Let me step back, did you burn CD copied the recovery thru the system restore or somewhere.. Because my fiancee recently got her own new compaq laptop few days ago. I realized that there is no recovery CD in box. but i read compaq manual book says I can make copy it thru the recovery from the system restore or somewhere hdd.. I can't recall.. So I did made three DVD CD copying from laptop's recovery software for her as in case if laptop is breakdown or something.. wow it is technology software.. there is no longer for recovery CD.. the recovery inside comptuer or laptop that already.. wow..

I hope you fix your computer as solve asap..

Good luck.. ;)

Dell doesn't have XP drivers for XPS-420. All drivers can be downloaded from their support pages. XPS-420 only have 32 and 64bit Vista.

Oh, that's odd.

My next new PC will be XPS 630, that offers XP or Vista, I'm goes to XP.

Longer transfer issue is actually from Vista, it wasn't from PC hardware fault.

It didnt include in my Dell, never did.. It just came with few discs: Original Vista DVD and Dell driver CD.. few other free apps that I would care less for.

Dell really odd sometime.

My workplace have Dell Dimension B110 and it can recovery from another paration and no need disk. Some dell need disk, some dell dont need disk. Really fucked up.

That's alot better than left in HDD, if your HDD die then you are screw up.

I rather to have DVD/CD for recovery over HDD.

Both are better.

Recovery hdd is quick than discs.
If you have RAID 1 or RAID 5 then no problem with recovery without discs.
