About 60 participants - some from as far away as Holland and Japan - are attending the annual Deaf-Blind Retreat this week at the Seabeck Conference Center.

The Kitsap Sun reports many participants are enjoying outings on recumbent trikes or tandem bikes - with help from volunteers - for two-mile rides around Lake Symington.

The event is organized by Seattle Lighthouse, a nonprofit that provides employment, support and training for people who are blind and blind with other disabilities.

Other activities during the weeklong retreat include cooking classes, kayaking and paddleboarding.
