School, park for deaf in city

Naib Nazim Karachi, Nasrin Jalil has asked the organizations working for special people to identify such places where park and school could be constructed for special people with city government efforts.

Speaking as chief guest at the 20th annual function of the Pakistan Association of the Deaf at a local hotel, Nasrin Jalil pointed out that city government wanted to provide maximum facilities to special people to make them useful members of the society.

She said such functions helped in understanding and solving the problems of special people and all the people and organizations, who are working for their welfare, deserve felicitations.

Nasrin Jalil pointed out that under Section 39-P of SLGO, City Government could make recommendations for the betterment of elderly, sick, and mentally deranged people and those with psychological disorders.

It was informed that at present, six private deaf schools are functioning in the city. These include Islamic School Surjani Town, Aqsa School, J S Academy Jamshed Town, Ida Rieu Numiash, Karachi Deaf School Korangi and DEWA Academy Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

The function was also addressed by Industrialist Abdul Haseeb Khan, HBFC Chairman Zaigham Rizvi, Special Education Director Abdul Khaliq Solangi, Irfan Mumtaz, president of the association and others.

They get a whole bunch of deaf/handicapped kids in one park.

The terrorist groups could always come around and say that it was the will of Allah that their suffering end.
