School for the Deaf sixth-grader state Finger-Spelling Bee champ | spelling, state, bee - News - Jacksonville Illinois News and Information Jacksonville Journal Courier

An Illinois School for the Deaf sixth-grader is the new state champion Finger-Spelling Bee champion.

Ariella Dramin of Jacksonville won the title Friday during competition at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield. She was the 2008 state Finger-Spelling Bee winner as well.

Dramin's coaches are ISD junior high reading teacher Judy Williams and science teacher Sherry Humphries.
She is the daughter of Bob and Lisa Dramin of Jacksonville.

The state Finger-Spelling Bee championship is sponsored by the Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission.
 
Wow, that is great. I never thought in a million years we would have a finger spelling Bee contest so that we don't have to say out loud trying to spell the words to win the contest or the title for an award. Go for it, Deaf sixth grader!!!!! Rah, Rah, Rah!!! :applause: Whoo hoo, way to go. :cool2:
