The Oregon Department of Education ordered a speedy, aggressive hiring time line to replace Jane Mulholland. It is almost impossible to find a better qualified candidate. There are vacancies in 10 schools for the deaf. Also, I question some of the steering committee members' qualifications.
Obviously, ODE is seeking weak members to railroad the hiring process to "hand pick" their choice of a candidate. ODE did say they are looking for better leadership. Is that a real fact? They are very anxious to fill the position to save face.
The next director will exhibit weak leadership, hence it increases their ability to manipulate the next director to carry out their secret agenda to pave the way for Superintendent of Public Instruction Susan Castillo's political gain -- either governor of Oregon or U.S. senator.
It is obvious Ed Dennis has dual roles as deputy superintendent and campaign manager. My biggest concern is how much time is he spending on being a campaign manager while on the job? Castillo and Dennis are abusing the system and misusing our tax money for her personal advancement. They are secretly campaigning by making news every day, using OSD as their first victim. Who will be the next victim on their agenda?
