I get these urges so bad sometimes when I am in the van.
I stomp and then eventually I have to try and get out and walk it off.
Night time is very difficult to deal with, when my legs want to move all the time.

Any others that deal with this?

I have restless legs syndrome and I take prescription from doctor called Requip. It helps calm down my legs some. Try that and see if it will help you. I agree with you that it is very bothersome. It kept me up for most of nights because my legs were itching to move all the time, plus I could feel my muscles moving around, cramping if I don't. It's no fun...so the medicine helped some.

I don't have it but I have heard about it, it's pretty exhausting.
It's worth to talk to your dr and try some medicine..

I had it before. I hate it when I am able to "sense" it coming before my legs jerked, that tickling and increased tension in my legs nervous system. I intaked a lot of caffine and sugar for a long while and decided to cut them down by more than 75% and that "syndrome" seems to disappear. I then tried to increase back slowly and that "syndrome" seems to reappear as well. So I decided to adapt to my new eating habit and been sleeping comfortably since then.

My companion has RLS and always woke me up in the middle of night because of his restless legs. I complained to him that he woke me up; I had to go to a guest room to sleep alone otherwise he'd keep me up all night. He didn't like it when I went to another room. We discussed and told him to try Requip. Since he started on Requip, he stopped twitching.

Requip apparently works for him but my biggest concern is the long term effects - it's so new and I sincerely hope there's no adverse side effects from long term use. I hope the research will still look for more new drugs to treat RLS. Requip is the first drug approved for RLS and I am sure many benefit from it but some can't take it because of side effects.

Because of this experience, I could understand how RLS can be devastating for people who couldn't get a good sleep as I couldn't sleep well with someone who has RLS!
