How do you set up the shared printer with the other computer?? Eric and I have struggled how to set it up. please help! thanks!!

What brand and model do you have? It's depend that it's available for network share printer

Make sure the computers can see eachother easily on the network, then make sure to install the printer drivers on each computer. Direct connect printer, if you can, to one computer, set it up, make sure it prints, and then make sure it is set as "shared". Then from the other computer, go to the "add network places" functions and search for it. This should work if you mostly have your two computers with their default networking settings.

we both have window xp. he has lenmark printer like i do too but i didn't bring my printer. so we decide to set up shared printer for our homeworks and other reasons.

Depending on what interface your printer got. Brand isn't the issue here when it comes to considering networking sharing. If your got either LPT printer or USB printer interface then you can set up computer which printer is connected to, and set it as "Printer server" then have it shared with other PC. Some printer got network interface which I have, very easy, just using IP address to set up in networking and share with any PC across the networking. You could buy a networking pritner port if you wish to depend on IP address. There is two different interfaces for them. If you want, I could assist you, please PM me. :)

Close, you left out some critical information. You NEED to have one PC to set up as printer server. Or get networking printer port which relies on IP address. Its far better than PC as printer server because that printer server PC must be running in order to share with other PC.

Make sure you have a router.

and add note, you need to open Lexmark from printer in control panel and open by click right button and look for message said networking printer share to check on. So, it will allow other computer to print to your computer to printer.
