Police: Man Sexually Abused Deaf, Mute Girl - Local News Story - WKMG Orlando
A DeLeon Springs man was arrested on sexual abuse charges Tuesday, accused by police of exposing himself to and touching a deaf, mute teen girl.
Adan Orozco, 31, was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd or lascivious exhibition, both of which are second-degree felonies.
According to Volusia County sheriff's investigators, Orozco knew the 16-year-old victim, and the sexual abuse had been ongoing for about a year.
Officials said they received a complaint from the Florida Department of Children & Families in February, so they began investigating Orozco.
During an interview with Orozco last month, an investigator administered a computer voice stress analysis test, which measures a person's voice pattern, measuring minute tremors or frequency modulations that are the body's involuntary reaction to lying, according to sheriff's deputies.
Orozco denied the abuse allegations, but the voice stress test indicated that he wasn't telling the truth, according to a sheriff's report.
After being confronted with the results of the exam, Orozco admitted to the abuse, deputies said.
Orozco was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on $10,000 bond.
