Hope everyone has fun tonight. Just remember if you drink PLEASE don't drive!!

Still amazes me how many people do it. We have pretty strick laws here in CA. There will be tons of drunk driving check points. Are local police have put a large decal on the back half of their cars that look like a taxi. The front half says "this ride could cost you up to $10,000. The taxi part says "this ride will cost you $10".

What is your area doing to help this cause?

I am doing my yearly drunk night but safely at home. Rare for me to drink but enjoy it every once. In a while at home for special occasions. Want a sam adams?

Sam Adams??....ewwww...No thanks!...I play it safe, stay home and hope to be breathing tomorrow....:giggle:

Well , we went to dinner with my stepmother, and I had congratulated myself on how safe we would be since my husband has the day off, and we could just sit home with the dogs, tv, and frozen pizza...

But then my daughter asked us to come pick her up at the hospital after work, which means we will be out on the road at midnight with all the drunks!

:giggle:...good luck!

I saw a lot of police cars on road when we were on way to home from church/funeral.

Be careful Botti. Is it still snowing there?

No, not snowing, but sub zero, and ice still on the roads. It is the worst blizzard Iowa had in decades.

And my husband finished felling our fallen tree today. There is going to be so much work to dispose of all the debris!

That is a huge job with the tree. We had a giant 40 foot redwood fall years ago. Luckily the wood awning caught most of it so there was no damage to our roof either. So close to going through my daughters bedroom window. Maybe you can find a firewood company that might want all that wood? I'm sure you looked already though.

I can't imagine that type of cold. We will get down into the 20 degree mark here tonight and that makes massive headline news:):)

I am hoping to salvage as much wood as possible, and with the trunk parts for outside supports, use the straightest branches to construct a withy, although I am aware that that is really living branches.

Fatal accidents caused by drunk driver had decreased considerable over years. Today, people are better educated and less likely to drive drunk than when it was back in 70's and 80's.
That is a big plus improvement and I don't drink much so it is not an issue for me.

Stayed home with my family, few friends, and our kids. Felt bad that those who came over had to drive home with all of the drunks after ringing in the New Year's.
