The DeafNation Expo returns to the Alameda County Fairgrounds on Saturday, featuring exhibitions and workshops meant to showcase available services and products for the deaf community.
National and local vendors will host seminars and demonstrations for products such as communication products, educational materials, books, video tapes and online and travel services.
For entertainment, shows by "Deafywood" and "RowdyVision" will take the stage, as well as a video preview of DeafNation TV. There will also be activities for children.
The expo will be held in the Young California building from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free for all attendees. Parking is $8.
Another related event to be held this week is a charity golf tournament at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore. The event will benefit Hayward's Deaf Hope, a nonprofit organization that works to end domestic violence and sexual assault against deaf women and children. The $100-per-golfer fee includes a barbecue dinner.
