Alright, out of sheer boredom we're going to play poker, and post our opinions on eachother, and why we played the hands.

I'm drinking an Avery IPA, and hes drinking an Avery Out of Bounds stout.

We're going to ignore eachother and unignore eachother when this is done.

You guys can comment along as you like.

Yeah, should be a bit interesting. Nothing to be won except bragging rights. And we'll be serious, yeah?

We're starting with 6950 in chips. Blinds 25-50. Game of format is Texas Hold'em, NL.

We'll be changing games as it goes along.

Alright I'm dealt with the first hand... Matt looked at his cards and raised another 100 on top of my 50 with a few nods and a slight smirk. I have J3 off. Nothing good in my opinion and even though this is the first hand... Its not worth it. I fold.

Mr Potts deals, and looks at his hole cards. We both look at each other and smile cunningly.

psst: I have K3 clubs and I'm going to win this pot.

MP raises to 175, I call.

Flop comes 8s5sQd. Aaron's staring at the Queen. I check.

He bets 500 into a 350 pot. I will reraise to 1200 to check him out.

He calls. (at this point i noticed him looking to count the 500 out. and the kind of over bet was strange.)

7 of hearts on the turn.

I bet 2000. (and I should not even be doing that. he calls. )

i move all in. I have him covered by 50.
He calls.

And he lost his cards....he said he had a straight...

I knew he was on a draw.

9 6 off. Dealer position. I'm just looking at Matt and thinking what to do. He gives me a grin. Thinking either raise or fold. And I'll take action here and see what happens. Raise 100 on his 50.

Matt calls. I'm thinking he's just going to see the flop. I put down the flop, and its 8 spade, 5 spade, queen diamond. Matt checks. I'll do a continuation bet. I bet 500. Right now he was just staring at my bet, rubbing the back of his neck. I'm thinking possible tell. Matt raises on top of my 500, another 700. So total is 1200. I call.

7 hearts. Flush still not possible. I hit my straight. Lucky me. Let's see what Matt does here. He raises 2000. Fine. I'll bait him in. I call.

Matt goes all in. Hm. That was awfully easy. I call.

Matt shakes his head. Yeah, I know I had an awful hand, but I took action first and wanted to maintain my image on top of drawing. And I hit the draw.

Matt's not showing his hand. Not that it matters. I won the showdown.

I have 10s 6h. I already put 25 in for the blind, so i decided my 10 was good enough for an all in. Pot is 100 now. Lets see the flop.

Ugly flop... Ah 8h Ks 6c and Jd. I hope aaron missed everything.

Matt deals. Has 50 left. I already put in 50 for big blind. So at this point I'll just check. He's all in. We'll see if he can manage to come back from this. Flop is A heart, 8 heart 6 clubs. Turn is Jack diamond. River king spade. He has 6 10 off. I have K 2 off. Higher pair. Matt's already finished. Unfortunate.

Mister Potts chooses to play 3 draw, 5 card draw poker.

It is simply 5 card draw poker, with 3 drawing chances.

We reset our chips stacks back to the og 6950.

This will be played in a pot limit format. Blinds 50-100

Since I won the last "round" I have the honor of picking the new game. I've chosen 3 draw 5 cards poker. Pot limit. I feel like this is one of my top games when it comes to playing poker next to Texas Hold 'em. But we'll see in heads up. Heads up is alot more aggressive than a 10 handed game especially if the players know what they're doing...

Time to kick PFH's ass again.

He deals and I have: 4h 6d 7d 9c Qd. I'm throwing out two and keeping the diamonds because in longer run with three draws its very likely ill complete my flush. I just hope he does not have a pair in his hand. Also with the running cards I can "change" plans and try for a straight if i need to.

Aaron raises to 300. An very aggressive bet. I'll call to see what the draw gives me.
I discard two. He discards two too.

I got 4d, 6s. (467Q diamonds and a 6 spade.) Now I have two more chances to get a flush. with only 1 card.
The odds are around 50% i'll hit. so, its a coinflip at this point. Pot is 600. I'll check to keep the max bet low. He bets 200. A stunningly weak bet, and i'll bite. lets see if he even discards any cards.
I discard the 6s, he discards two.
I'm feeling he has a three of kind at this point or really behind in chasing.
I get a 4s. I check.
He bets 500. I will call. Pot odds aren't the right to call with but I'm a gambler at heart.
Pot is 2000.

I do not even discard. He discards two. Bluffing at this point, and I'll bet 1500. I should have reraised after the last draw. my mistake. Let's hope he realizes the issue. I'm trying to represent a made hand. He's counting the chips in pot.

He folds.

So I deal. I'm dealt Jack spade, jack diamond, 10 heart, queen heart, Ace diamond. Not bad at all. I got inside draw, already got a fairly high (Though can be the worst) pair, lots of face cards. I'll raise at this point and see what Matt does. I bet 300, since the pot was 150. Matt calls, so I see it as an act of weakness. He puts down two cards. At this point I need to decide what most likely will have the best draw... I'll keep the jacks and the ace. Though, I have no "knowledge" in terms of what cards are best for drawing. I have not read any 5 cards draw poker books..

I'm dealt 2 diamond and 3 spade, Nothing valuable, but since I already bet, I'll do a continuation bet. At this point, its 600 in the pot, Matt checks, I'll bet 1/3 of the pot, so to make him think I'm baiting him. 200. Matt calls.

He puts down 1 card. I put down the two I was dealt. 2 and 3. 3 diamond and 10 clubs. Matt checks. I'll raise again. 500. Let's see if Matt hit anything. Most likely he's drawing... He calls again. I'm a bit worried. He asks for no cards. I redraw again... Yup, I'm worried. He raises 1500. King diamond and 8 heart.

2000 in the pot. With the raise it's 3500. 1500. That's only 1 to 2.3 something odd to call. Is the single pair I have worth it. Knowing Matt, I'm not sure if its worth calling... I can just get him later. I'll fold at this point.

Right now, it seems that Matt and I have finally gotten into our serious mood, showing rather few facial expressions from what I've seen...

I deal, and I have Ah Qc Jc 7h 4s. I called the blind. Mr potts checks

Mr potts throws three cards out. I'll discard three cards to see what the draw gives me. I'll stick with the QJ clubs. Higher chances to get either straight or flush.

Now I have 8h, and QJ74 clubs. I'll try to get a flush. I'll try to keep the pot small throughout the betting. I do not want to bluff this time around.

Mr potts bets 200. I'll call. Another mathematically "impossible" to call because im not getting good pot odds at this point but its only 200.

He discards two. I'll discard one.

I got a queen heart. he bets pot. I'm up at this point i'll gracefully fold. He had to bet 600 to get 300 out of me.

Matt deals. I have 3 diamond, 3 heart, 4 heart, 6 spade, 8 spade. Matt calls my blind. I'll check. I discard the 4, 6, 8. Got my trip. 3 club, Queen diamond and 2 spade... I'll raise 200. He calls, now the pot is 600. I discard the 2 and queen.

I remark doing this makes me very attentive to the details so its extremely helpful in terms of finding the smallest details. 9 heart and 8 clubs. Matt's thinking about his cards, playing with them... Fiddling. I'm thinking he's on a draw. I'll raise again. Pot size bet. Discard 8, 9 again. Matt folds. Right now he still has the chip lead over me. I'll work my way back up slowly but surely.
