Why doesn't Yahoo's video player at screen.yahoo.com have support for closed captioning yet? The video players of Hulu, Google, Netflix, DailyMotion, and Blip all support closed captioning. Yahoo has known for a LONG time now that they needed to update their video player to add closed caption support. Yet they still have not done it.

Their explanation when asked about it?

"We can't give an exact date at this point, however, we're working hard to get this out as soon as possible."

The Yahoo video player at screen.yahoo.com does not even have a closed captioning button or toggle.

Original web television programs from Yahoo frequently turn up on lists of web series. For example, the Yahoo web series "Burning Love" was cited in TVLine.com's column, "What to Watch: 5 Web Series Worth Checking Out."

Recently Yahoo hosted an exclusive high-profile web series, Electric City, produced by Tom Hanks. For this exclusive web series, Yahoo added a new feature: voice translation in three languages - English, Spanish, and French. But they could not be bothered to add captioning.

Come on, Yahoo. Quit dragging your feet. Deaf and hard of hearing people (and hearing people who want, need, or like captions) have waited long enough!
