Parole denied for man who rape, killed deaf woman in Great Falls... | KXNet.com North Dakota News
The state parole board has denied parole for a Great Falls man, convicted in 1989 of raping and killing a deaf woman and then dumping her body in the Missouri River.
Forty-one-year-old James Olivieri, has served 18 years of his 120-year sentence on charges of murder, obstructing justice and use of a weapon in the death of Ethel Wood.
Cascade County Attorney Brant Light says Olivieri probably won't have another parole hearing until 2011, after the board denied his request for the second time this year.
The parole board this week also denied parole for 27-year-old Roger Conant. He's serving a 20-year sentence with ten years suspended on charges of felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor DUI. Prosecutors say he caused the death of a Great Falls teenager during a 2004 street-racing incident.
The board will consider his request again in two years.
