A special group of children got to experince the magic and sparkle of the Nutcracker today. Ballet West held an exclusive performance for kids from the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind.

It was a sensory experience of a lifetime. Children watched the performance, then went on stage to meet the dancers. They got to feel the intricate details on the costumes, touch point shoes, and sense the excitement of the performance.

Peter Christie, Ballet West: "It's so exciting to actually see the kids when they actually get to feel what that tutu actually feels like, the stiff netting and the soft, drapey, flowy fabrics that are on the waltz of the flowers. And their eyes just light up. It's exciting."

Nutcracker opens Friday and runs through New Year's.
