As a lot of you may know, my Grandpa used to have a brown brown 1979 Cherokee 4 door. In mid 1980s, my Grandpa bought a red 1966-1977 Ford Bronco for his son. The son lived in Arkansas. Therefore, Grandma and Grandpa drove 2 cars to Arkansas and then came home with 1 car.
Grandpa also bought a red 1978-1979 Ford F150 Ranger for his son. So same thing as above, they drove the CHerokee and the F150 to Arkansas, and came back home with 1 car.
Later on, Grandpa bought a brand new white 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Therefore, he decided to give the 1979 CHerokee to his son. So on the journey, my Grandpa and Grandma drove the 1979 Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer to Arkansas and came back with one car.
1988 Grand Wagoneer was later totalled in accident. Therefore, Grandpa bought the exact same thing only it was 1989.
My very first time driving outside Illinois was in 1995 when Grandpa allowed me to drive the 1989 Grand Wagoneer in Rolla, MO.
Grandpa passed away in 1999. Few months later, Grandma sold the Grand Wagoneer to my brother. It has since rusted out and is junked.
I sometimes wonder between Grandma and Grandpa who drove which car to Arkansas. Did they take turns or did they just drive the same vehicle? I'm going to have lunch with Grandma today. I'm going to ask her. I wonder if she will remember. Grandpa was the car person. Grandma is not. I wish I had asked Grandpa, but I never did.
