Hello everyone!
My name is Devin and I am an Industrial design student in Boston MA. My girl friend is a ASL major at NTID and has introduced me to some of the deaf culture and inspired me to start learning some sign, mainly finger spelling for now. My girl friends niece was born HOH and then lost the remainder of her hearing when she was a few years old. This is what inspired my girlfriend to go into ASL. Her niece has since received a cochlear implant and is doing well with it. My experiences with both of them has given me interest is helping the deaf community through design. I had designed a toy a bit back for deaf children and now have another project I am working on. I would love to get feedback on my concept and also hear any ideas/concerns/criticism for it but I will post that information in the appropriate section. Thank you all! Have a great day
