Dell Adamo is super fashionable and skinny notebook that can compete directly against the MacBook Air. It is expensive cost at $1999 but 128GB SSD and 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo processer are not good?

This CPU is faster than Intel Atom that found from netbook, it's good for standard applications.

Wow, good news for The Highlander.

Uh what? Intel Atom Processor is not up to par with Intel Core 2 Duo. They are different in speed and its performance.

Intel Atom is for a small laptop like you said, Netbook.

Core 2 Duo is good for all purposes like game, movie, etc...

Honestly, I don't think Dell Alamo is worth it, its expensive with 1.2 ghz wtf

I mean yeah I agreed with you Roxac, its better than atom processor but its kinda weak for expensive machine

Same with MacBook Air, they are thin and expensive.

Slim notebook does cost more.

Depends on GHz, if it's 1.2 GHz then it's worthless to run games with complexes of graphic like Crysis and COD WaW.

Macbook air have multi-touch pad, backlight keyboard, MagSafe, and 1.6ghz Intel 2 Duo.

MBA win.

Why you think 128GB SSD is not good? It's fucking faster than HDD and longer battery life.

This laptop is pretty decent for network browsing, school, business. I know it's not enuf to run heavily graphical games. The SSD drive is dang fast than hdd. If u check with Photoflash Sata SD which is much faster than Sata hdd itself. This SSD is made from Japan and configurable up to 192gb using 6 of 32mb SDHC. Google this urself!

I bet Dell SSD is just a permanent 128gb drive. Not configurable.

SSD currently is the fastest this year. It was finally improved last year. SATA SSD drive currently is the fastest drive.

The SSD read/write speed are much greater than hdd. It can read 150mbps to 250 mbps and write 100 to 150mpbs comparing to hdd averaging 50mbps to 65mpbs.

So that's something you might think about. Since it have changed for better last year, It's gonna replace many hdd very soon!!

Currently, I am waiting for the order from Hong Kong, It's a SDHC to 44 pin IDE adapter and I have ADATA Turbo Class 6 SDHC which can read at 22mbps and write 10mpbs. It may be slow but there are newer card coming on the way... Read below about SDXC which is a newest breed coming soon..

SDXC

The Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) format was unveiled at CES 2009. The maximum capacity defined for SDXC cards is 2 TB (2048 GB). SDHC cards also have a maximum capacity of 2 TB based on the card data structures, but this is arbitrarily limited to 32 GB by the SD 2.0 document.

The maximum transfer rate of SDXC was announced as 104 MB/s, with plans to increase it to 300 MB/s in the future. The SDXC specification has selected Microsoft's proprietary exFAT file system as the standard for this memory card format;[22][23][24] however, as with SDHC and SD, it is possible to use another filesystem such as FAT32 or ext2.

On January 8, 2009, Panasonic announced plans for production of 64 GB SDXC cards.[25]

On March, 6, 2009, Pretec introduces world's first SDXC card [26] with a capacity of 32 GB and a read/write speed of 50 MB/s. At the introduction there were no products compatible with the new memory card.

So If they have it in market right now, it would have been very expensive for 8gb. Soon in few year, it's gonna be cheap and computer would go fast and smooth with SDXC card.

Again. CF still faster than SDXC. What's point to get smaller flash card for laptop? CF is perfect fit enough inside the laptop. SD type is good for digital camera, pda, etc but laptop? Why laptop?

New CF 666x speed up to 375MB/sec.

In future CF can make up to 6gb/s.

Dell's 13" laptop for $1999 - Very very very over price. I refuse to buy Dell.

I prefer to take IBM's Lenovo ThinkPad (Intel Core2 Duo 2.0GHz 800MHz) for start at $499.

Lenovo ThinkPad SL300: 13.3" LED WXGA, Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 2.0GHz, 2GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, DVDR, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M 128MB, Vista Home Basic $499 - SlickDeals.net Forums

The link that you mentioned isn't slim notebook or ultra notebook, just compare like orange to apple.

Inspiron 13 will be right answer to compare with ThinkPad SL300.

Forrax.... thank you for link to Inspiron 13. I looked at Inspiron 13 compare to ThinkPad SL300. Both are almost same tech. ThinkPad SL300 has HDMI port. Dell Inspiron 13 does not have HDMI port.

I would not buy Dell. I know few people owned Dell. They will not buy Dell again.

review from customers have good experience and bad experience. You will see customer gave lower rate for Dell.

I never had problem with Dell.

Many of issues on Dell PC is really old news because of SIS chipset and Dell stopped use SIS chipset for cheap model in last 2-3 years ago, I believe they use Intel chipset and run alot better and haven't report any issue, additional, Dell isn't right choice if you are newbie about computer.

I have Dell XPS desktop and never got problem, they use nForce chipset and for notebook, I have ASUS as well.

It's the pricing issue. CF cards are more expensive than SD (8gb card with 333x cost $95 in Ebay that can offer 50mbps read/40mpbs write). So that's why people would use SD cuz it's better than nuthing and also it's thin and small in size. I agree that CF is fast. I can order CF to IDE adapter. But I rather wait till later. Right now my laptop just had its SD to 44 pin adpater installed. Just got it yesterday from Hong Kong and use 8GB 150x Turbo SDHC (22mpbs read/10mbps write). It works wonder for old Dell. I use Puppy Linux 4.1 and it didn't lag when I ran the program. Worth it!!

I tethered it with blackberry Curve and currently typing up post to you.

If I get laptop with SATA drive bay, I would get CF to SATA adapter for it.
