Do you need a free software for photo and picture editing ?

I recommend you irfanview ( pronounce earfanview ) !!!
It's free for personal use and has so many powerful menus.
It's not as rich as photoshop but it's enough for basic use.

I tried GIMP but it's slow and complicated for my computer..
I prefer irfanview .. it's neat ,quick and easy to use

Does ACDSee still have free version? I always liked that software for viewing and for editting pics. Can go thru whole folder of pics just using Page Up/Down to look at each one, or can go in 'browse' mode and see thumbnails of all the pics, and if one you want to use for your desktop wallpaper you just click the wallpaper button. For editting, it seems to do all I've needed to do when editting (changing brightness/darkness, contrast, adding text and just about anything else you want to do short of using photoshop). It's really good software, IMHO.
