Just released on Steam. Downloading now... ten years to the day since the original was released.

Anyone play the original or getting the sequel? It's a space marines vs aliens FPS but with an RTS twist, one player is a 'commander' who builds structures to help their team.

Played a few rounds today. Trying to ignore the fact I have almost all the graphics turned down low (2010 MacBook Pro) and enjoy it. Just like the original, the aliens move really really fast so whether you're a marine trying to shoot them or an alien trying to bite it just seems like a crazy clickfest whenever you get into a fight.

A good commander is very important, when I joined the server the commander was constantly giving orders to go to places to defend or build more stuff. The next round, an inexperienced guy took over and gave all his directions by voicechat (grrrr) so no idea where to go or what to do if you didn't catch it, and what a surprise: we were disorganized and lost.

A bit later, I played as the aliens. It's very very different, you can choose various perks when you spawn to 'evolve' your alien even further - you can morph from the basic type into a more powerful form, and then apply tougher skin or faster movement or other stuff to yourself.
