Hi, I have not been here in a long time, it was roughly 3 years ago that I got my Naida V UPs and an ICOM. I have been rarther happy with them for the most part and I don't feel that there is anything better of significance.
My company INS pays about $2500 for my aids, and my wife's pays about $4500.
So, I have approx $7k to spend, but I must do so soon I may be laid off when our contract is up.
My audi (who I have gone to for 3 years), is nice, but I think she sees a gravy train - that said, I don't think I want to start all over with a new one.
She was quoting me one price after another.
Ultimately - I think, she's planning the following for my roughly $7 to $7500.
2 Naida IX UPs
1 ICOM
1 FM Receiver (it plugs into ICOM)
1 FM transmitter - I am not sure which - easlink + or zoomlink +.
My hearing loss is profound, next stop (after these) - likely to be cochlear implants.
Is this a reasonable price for what I am getting?
I would also have my Naida Vs reconditioned as backups - or should I consider having them reconditioned and maybe sell them as used - do I need the backups?
I also have an old ICOM that does not hold a charge for a long time - I could get that fixed too.
Finally, is the IX a significant improvement over the V?
And (I guess I lied), if I get the IXs is the remote a nice to have or a mandatory thing - due to the directional zooming.
Please advise and thanks for any and all input.
