Due to the devasation caused by Hurricane Katrina, the National Association of the Deaf has decided not to hold its July 2006 conference in New Orleans. The NAD's board "recently voted, with heavy hearts, to find a new location for the conference," said NAD president Andrew Lange. The organization is now looking at specific Marriott properties on the West Coast and hopes to return to New Orleans in 2008.
