My Movies in MCE ? and DVD converter software ?

does anyone have 'My Movies' program in MCE2005 ? if you dont know, check www.mymovies.name

i have it in MCE. i think it is just awesome because i have a xbox extender in living room and i can select any movie i want from my PC in other room(soon to become a media server). the movies can be streamed from PC to the extender like Creative Zen Portable Media Center or Dlink Media Center extender or Xbox extender with TV through the network. if you have MCE and want to have some movies on HDD, i recommend you to try MY Movies program. It is awesome !

right now i am testing several different video converter softwares. i found a better one which is xilisoft dvd ripper because it converts VOB to MPG-2 that is very high quality video. i am considering to buy that software for converting those movies to mpg2 for my future extenders, but i would like to have some feedbacks about the better movie converting softwares. any advice ?

i guess noone is interested in media things at home. anyway, i bought xiliosoft dvd ripper. it works super. it can convert those dvds to mpeg2 or mpeg1 with subtitles. we watched two converted movies on tv with xbox extender which accepts only mpeg1/2 format through wireless network. the video quality is very good. no pixels on screen at all. i am happy with the software, but it takes for e v e r to convert them ! one movie converted took approx 4 hours.

i havent tried converting dvd to divx or vixd. i wud be happy to report how this work if someone needs to know about that. ;)

Question.. What's spec of ur computer?
 
3.0 ghz p4
512mb pc3200 400mhz ram
80gb hdd, 80gb hdd and 160gb hdd
Randem 9250 128mb v.card

is that what you need to know ? in some forums ppl warn that converting the movies wud take forever to process.
 
my mind appeared.... one hdd includes MCE2005 and other hdd includes XP PRO. and one hdd is media storage.

Yep. I like to know and I will test it and let u to know.

It's was kind scary since u made topic last week and I don't bother to read whole. Later last night my brother's friend asked me a question about program for from DVD to MP4 for iPod so I google it and found then send to her. She said that one she need thanks!

Later I read whole ur topic and check on Xilisoft DVD website. That's same one I found from google. Oh geez.

yea, i have that dvd to mpeg4 converter, Xilisoft DVD ripper Platinum. it is good for little devices like iPod or iRiver or PDA. i havent tried that on PDA yet. also i have Xilisoft DVD Ripper. it s great for mpeg-1/2. mainly i use mpeg2 for streaming the movies on tv with xbox from PC.
