Tonight we had a long discussion. I don't know what I would have
done without my Grandma. She has been so there for me, through everything. My mother and I have a bad history together. Still to this day our relationship is anything short of healthy. My father, he is like a shadow...there when the light hits right then gone the next second that you look.
My Grandmother, and I discussed that she is not getting any younger. That was a very difficult thing for me to realize. I know she isn't. She will be 73 this year. She states," If anything should happen to me, you need to be strong and stay strong." Eventhough you can't see me, doesn't mean I am not there."
Grandma? My life will never be the same if something should happen to you. No more late phone calls, no more being able to let my tears flow (without judgement), no more close understanding, no more of that stubborn attitude that we both have (being irish!) But most of all, no more calling of Mom. Because you are my mom, because you have given me a chance to prove myself. To become the woman that you knew I could be. In all my trials, and in all my failures. You have helped me up onto my feet, and told me like you always have told me," You can do this."
I just thought, I would share our beautiful relationship with you. For those of you that have a wonderful relationship with your grandparents, I am sure you can relate and know where I am coming from.
Sincerely, Heart2Sign
