I would like to bring to your attention that the March 14 2 PM performance of Charlene Brooks Big Band Meets Broadway will be signed for hearing impaired.
In addition to performing in theaters, cabarets and at private parties, for the last 13 years, Brooks have also been the Cantorial Soloist at Congregation Bene Shalom, HAD (Hebrew Assoc of the Deaf). The majority of members are hearing, but everything is deaf friendly, all songs and speech interpreted. Shee learned how to sign there, and has loved every minute of it. Many deaf members have come to her shows and are so grateful when she signs even one or two of the songs.
She realized that she was not really able to sign language interpret her entire show, and since so many wonderful people have expressed interest in coming, the only logical thing to do is to add an interpreter. Someone who is theatrically experienced and talented at signing can only enhance the entire event.
Charlene Brooks performs Big Band Meets Broadway at the Skokie Theatre, 7924 N. Lincoln Ave, Sunday, March 14 At 2 p.m. and Saturday, April 17 At 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Skokie Theatre Music Foundation or by calling 847.677.7761 for $20. Tickets purchased at the venue the night of the engagement are $25. To learn more about Charlene Brooks visit www.charlenebrooks.com.
