Music night for the deaf - Local - Evening Courier

A FUND-raising evening tonight will boost the coffers of a charity which helps deaf children play musical instruments.

The Rotary Club of Halifax has organised the event at Carlton United Reformed Church, at the junction of Harrison Road and Carlton Street, in aid of Music and the Deaf.

The charity was set up by Paul Whittaker OBE, of Rishworth, and aims to help the deaf, mainly youngsters, to enjoy music.

Mr Whittaker will speak at the event and has invited the Hi-tones, a group of deaf young musicians, aged 11-17, who come from from all over Yorkshire to perform for members.
