Monument Mom, Deaf Son Get Second Chance On 'Amazing Race' - Entertainment News Story - KMGH Denver

A mother and son from Monument are getting a second chance on the realty TV show "Amazing Race."

Margie Adams and her son Luke have been invited back to compete against other teams who have run the race in the past.

The Adamses came in third when they ran the race during Season 14.

"The challenge this time is that the competitors already know the ropes, so it will be an even more intense competition," Margie told the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Luke Adams was the first deaf contestant on the show. Luke only signs and does not read lips, which meant his mother often had to help him communicate.

Since their last appearance on "Amazing Race," Luke has done motivational speaking, according to the newspaper.

His mother is a nurse and clinical research associate.

Fans of the show and the Adams can watch the show premiere with them Sunday.

"At Old Chicago on Woodmen, come watch the show with us," Margie said.

I'm so sick of this...

They're just spreading the issue of "My mom has to communicate for me" "I am deaf, and I need help"

I won't be watching.

Teams had going to Australia. I will watch "Amazing Race" on TV tonight.

Same here. When Phil said "Queensland Australia Northern Territories Airways" I thought it is the long version "QANTAS" airlines. I was correct it turns out.

I was a bit surprised the lead plane arrived later than the second plane. Just proves that anything could happen in this race. I'm glad to see Luke and Mallory have made it to the second leg of the race.

I wonder if JClarke knew of this being filmed in AUS???

Margie and Luke then tell Kent/Vyxsin. Uh, this was not a hard puzzle. You had the key to the cryptogram! Stop telling people the answer! It's not like they gave them one flag = "e" and made them figure it out from there. Now they are seventh place.

I'm not a huge fan of Amazing race but I tuned in by accident last night. I thought the show was pretty cool and saw the son/ mother team. I'm definitely going to watch the show every week from now on.
