I am currently working on my friend kid's computer with Foxconn mobo. It had virus and hardware crash. I fixed it with new hard drive and reinstalled XP. I already installed Foxconn's driver (Nvidia drivers for south bridge, display driver, ect in CDrom).
After powering up CPU, XP loaded and settles. Monitor blink and pointer still there. After it blinks 4 or 5 times (I would say about 1 to 2 min apart), pointer disappeared on screen but I can navigate with "invisible" pointer by seeing highlight lit on window box or some apps also Start Menu. I had to navigate blindly (guessing where invisible pointer was at) to Start menu to reboot system.
Do you know what cause it? I've checked monitor and it's fine. I am not sure that if it had to do with Onboard graphic chipset overheating or go funky.
I remember I had similiar situation like this before in the past but I do not have back up graphic card to fix the problem. It uses PCI-E card, not AGP. I have PCI-E NVidia GeForce 9400GT on other system and refuse to move it to friend's system.
So Are there any solution to make pointer reappears in such way without rebooting it?
