1. Romney scored 4,516 votes, or 31.5 percent
2. Mike Huckabee who had 2,587 votes, or 18.1 percent
3. Sam Brownback was third with 2,192 votes, 15.3 percent.


Rudy Giuliani received 183 votes

Tommy Thompson, who finished in 6th place with 1,039 votes
He had said repeatedly that if he didn't finish in the top two his campaign was likely to end. He left the event before the results were announced.
Fred Thompson of Tennessee got 203 votes

John McCain of Arizona got 101.
 
AMES, Iowa -- Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (R) drew 32 percent of the vote Saturday in the Iowa straw poll

The straw poll's runner-up, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee finished second with 18 percent, and Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback ran third with 15 percent.

Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo finished fourth with 14 percent, followed by Texas Rep. Ron Paul with 9 percent and former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson sixth at 7 percent.

Former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson, former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Arizona Sen. John McCain and California Rep. Duncan Hunter each finished with 1 percent, and Chicago businessman John Cox got less than 1 percent.
 
If Mitt Romney is Republican choice...

Look at Mitt Romney... PERFECT... he looks like
a President.

and I don't think Hillary Clinton or Obama can beat Mitt.
