The Norwest Deaf Outdoors Club is holding their eighth Mini-Timberfest on Saturday and Sunday at a new location at the Stampede Grounds in Williams Lake. The games feature a variety of activities such as bucksaw, choke cable, axe throwing, a chainsaw race, an obstacle course, nail hammering, horseshoes, children's games and pet games.
Visitors from elsewhere in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Washington will be in town to watch and participate in the event. Crews arrive on Thursday evening with registration and a welcome speech on Friday.
Anybody is welcome to attend, with day passes, from 9 a.m. to midnight costing $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for children. Visitors aged under 10 can attend for free.
Admission for all the events over the entire weekend is $70 for adults, $65 for seniors and $25 for children to be paid at the gate in cash or money order only.
