Mind and Soul

The mind sees nothing but darkness
Yet it searches for the light
Can't seem to do it on its own
So it screams an awful fright

The soul tries to help
But the mind again says no
The mind needs to conquer
The mind always wants control

The soul is very patient
And will wait until its time
When the mind finally realizes
That it’s the soul that lets the light shine

Will the mind ever understand
That the soul knows the way
Or will it forever live in darkness
Every night and every day
