this is a polite request not to use the term "mental patient." please use the phrase "person with mental illness" instead. thanks.

ask the local deaf services center or the county or city's Department of Social Services. they may have a caseworker assigned to deaf or disabled peopel to help.

this would be an invaluable resource for me. thanks for sharing it.

travis also might want to have someone call a psychiatric hospital (if he has one in his area) who can give him a list of names of group homes for the mentally ill.

I think he already got this from Mrs. Bucket.

Mental patient is a valid term.

i don't believe it is, nor does my therapist or psychiatrist (who incidentally has been in practice for over 30 years).

you and i will have to agree to disagree on this.

Sorry, but I gave you one source and can give lots more to show that the term "mental patient" is still in use and is not pejorative.

Mental patient. Mental patient. I get mad when people use the mad face if they are not joking. Mental patient.

I don't like mad face when real and you don't like mental patient. So you can't use mad face just because I say so. ( this is your reasoning on "mental patient")

What Hear Again said is absolutely valid, why cant people respect other peoples feelings for a change?
