Deputies in Broward County, Fla., could do little for the victim of John McGivney's shooting rampage.

The green 1994 Chrysler LeBaron LX sustained five gunshot wounds to its front hood and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

McGivney, 64, allegedly shot his ailing vehicle at about 1:30 p.m. on April 15.

According to a police document, the Florida man walked out of his apartment with a loaded .380-caliber semiautomatic pistol and headed towards his car. An eyewitness told Broward County deputies that McGivney pointed the gun at the car's hood and fired five rounds. McGivney reportedly then told the witness that he was "putting the car out of its misery."

Broward County deputies responding to calls about the gunshots surrounded McGivney's apartment complex and ordered him to surrender unarmed. The suspect complied and was arrested.

McGivney was charged with a firearms violation and posted $100 bond the next day. The report from the sheriff's office listed the Chrysler as "deceased."

Does this not scream HE HAS ISSUES

*shaking head* I guess the car didn't make a very good pet...or perhaps he is not entirely satisfied with the transmission...*snickers* At any rate, he could have donated the damn thing for a tax break.

He shot his car cause he wants to put the car out of its misery.... ...

The media treating a car as a living thing? It's just hunk of metal and plastic, :P

Yup, they shoot horses you know.
:)

Isn't it refreshing, though, to see someone taking frustration out on an inanimate object instead of a person?
