Man admits sexual assault of deaf teen | Inland News | PE.com | Southern California News | News for Inland Southern California
A Lake Elsinore man pleaded guilty today to a single count of rape in connection with the April sexual assault of a deaf, teenage girl who asked him to drive her from Corona to the San Diego area.
Marcos Esteban Ortega, 39, will be sentenced to a six-year prison term later this month as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
Ortega reportedly picked up the teenage girl on April 14 in Corona after she snuck out of her parents' house. She offered him gas money if he drove her to Valley Center so she could visit friends.
Ortega took the girl to a dark lot in Wildomar, where he sexually assaulted the girl, according to police. He later took her to Valley Center, according to authorities.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 29 at the Southwest Justice Center in French Valley.
