Malloy speaks at American School for the Deaf commencement - News - West Hartford News
Gov. Dannel Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman attended The American School for the Deaf's 194th commencement exercises on June 23. Twenty-eight students who graduated from the school came from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and the United Arab Emirates.
Malloy addressed the graduates by telling them about his own struggles growing up with dyslexia. He told the students never to give up and continue to pursue their dreams. He finished his speech by acknowledging the success each student has accomplished.
“I am in a room of winners!” he said.
Wyman spoke briefly, thanking the students and staff and telling them to keep up the good work. Both received a standing ovation from the audience.
