Lynn Boyer named superintendent for W.Va. Schools for the Deaf and Blind - The Washington Post
A former state director for special education has been named superintendent of the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind.
The state Board of Education approved Lynn Boyer’s hiring Wednesday.
Last year the Romney school was cited by the Office of Education Performance Audits for deficiencies in leadership, curriculum, safety and technology.
Boyer will begin her new job on July 1. She currently is assistant executive director of the Council for Exceptional Children, a nonprofit group in Arlington, Va.
From 2004 to 2010 she served as executive director of the West Virginia Department of Education’s Office of Special Programs, Extended and Early Learning.
